Austrian Post has selected ARKA as the official supplier for developing Autonomous Locker Networks across Central and Eastern Europe, covering Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Croatia.

An innovative, efficient, and reliable smart locker produced by ARKA

In this groundbreaking collaboration, ARKA's R&D department has developed an advanced locker requested by the Austrian Post which features peripherals that combine the benefits of a traditional plug-in locker with the energy efficiency and autonomy of a next-generation locker. Among these, we highlight a keypad with LCD display, a video surveillance system, a QR code scanner, an LED lighting system, an alarm system, and more.

Standout feature: unmatched 10-year autonomy with no battery replacement required

One of the standout features of this locker is its energy production system, offering autonomy of up to 10 years without the need for battery replacement. This ensures consistent, sustainable operation even in high-usage and challenging environments. The locker’s low energy consumption and user-friendly design make it an ideal solution for prime locations across Europe.

Around 1,300 new lockers to launch in Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Croatia

As part of this initial project, the deployment of these innovative lockers on the streets of Slovakia started in September 2024. The plan is to have around 1,300 lockers installed in Hungary, Bulgaria, and Croatia by the end of the year.
