From October 21–23 we participated in Parcel+Post Expo 2025 at the RAI Amsterdam, marking our fourth consecutive year at the industry’s leading global event. For ARKA, it was our strongest presence to date and an excellent opportunity to showcase our latest innovations in autonomous and grid-powered locker technology.
This year, our stand was designed to encourage meaningful interaction and hands-on product exploration. Visitors were welcomed into a spacious layout featuring an elevated meeting room, a bar, plenty of networking area, and VR sets that offered an immersive tour of our production facility. But the stars of the stand were the two solutions that define ARKA’s 2025 product lineup: the Lumen autonomous solar-powered locker and the Volt grid-powered locker.
Our team, represented by CEO Lucian Ulmanu, Projects Director Diana Ene, Head of Software Development Claudiu Oprișan, Software Developer George Reculin, Marketing Director Laura Colțea, Marketing Specialist Ilinca Nanu, and technicians Florin Ilinca and Damian Cojanu, engaged with visitors from across the world. Throughout the three days, we welcomed postal operators, couriers, and technology partners interested in scalable locker networks and integrated software solutions.
Our First In-Booth Event - The 5 Keys to Setting Up Your Locker Network
One of the key highlights of this year’s edition was ARKA’s first-ever in-booth event, which drew a full audience and created an exceptional space for knowledge-sharing and industry dialogue. The session, The 5 Keys to Setting Up Your Locker Network, was presented by Lucian Ulmanu alongside industry expert Marek Różycki, and it quickly became one of the most watched moments on our stand. This topic was especially relevant given ARKA’s involvement earlier this year in the publication of The Ultimate Out-of-Home Delivery Handbook, written by Last Mile Experts and sponsored by ARKA Smart Parcel Lockers. Released in May, the handbook is a valuable resource for companies beginning their locker journey as well as for experienced industry professionals looking to refine or scale their networks. Its practical insights, frameworks, and real-world examples provided the perfect foundation for deeper discussion during our in-booth event.
The session itself sparked meaningful conversations about network strategy and the common pitfalls operators should avoid when designing or expanding a locker network. After the presentation, attendees were invited to a relaxed networking gathering, accompanied by premium Romanian wine and snacks. The event concluded with Unlock a Prize, an interactive activity where visitors scanned a QR code on the Lumen autonomous locker to open a compartment and receive a surprise gift. This hands-on moment became an instant favourite among participants, offering a fun and intuitive firsthand experience of how seamless ARKA’s user journey can be.
Industry Dialogue: Solar vs Swappable Battery
Beyond the stand, ARKA Smart Parcel Lockers was also involved in the event’s conference program. CEO Lucian Ulmanu joined a panel moderated by Andre Veskimeister from Parcel Locker Central on the topic Solar vs Swappable Battery: Which Locker Tech Will Dominate? During the discussion, Lucian emphasized the proven reliability of solar-powered autonomous lockers, even in regions with low sunlight and harsh winters. He shared insights from ARKA’s deployments in Canada for Penguin Pickup, reinforcing that energy-efficient solar solutions can operate at scale when designed with proper energy management systems.
Hands-On Software Demonstrations
Over the past year, ARKA’s software ecosystem has evolved significantly, driven by a newly strengthened development team and a clear focus on improving performance and usability. We have assembled an exceptional group of software engineers whose work has greatly enhanced the capabilities of our existing platform. These advancements were a priority for us to showcase at Parcel+Post Expo, which is why we brought two of our colleagues directly involved in this progress to the exhibition.
Throughout the event, visitors had the opportunity to explore these improvements through live demonstrations delivered by Claudiu Oprișan, Head of Software Development, and George Reculin, Software Developer. The demos walked attendees through essential real-world scenarios such as courier parcel drop-off and end-customer pickup, providing a clear view of how the system behaves in daily operations. Many visitors reacted with strong interest, particularly to how seamlessly ARKA’s software communicates with our autonomous and grid-powered lockers, resulting in a unified, reliable, and intuitive platform for operators and end users alike.
Conclusions After Three Days of Valuable Connections
Parcel+Post Expo 2025 was a rewarding experience for ARKA. Over three days, we connected with partners from across the globe, held productive discussions, and opened new business opportunities. The rising interest in autonomous lockers, combined with the positive reception of our Lumen and Volt models, reflects a clear shift in the industry toward reliable, low-maintenance, and future-proof last-mile solutions.
We thank everyone who visited our stand and joined our events. We look forward to continuing the conversations and building on the momentum generated in Amsterdam as we help shape the future of smart parcel locker networks.
