The integration of autonomous solar panel battery lockers had a major impact on the last-mile delivery segment. From sustainability to reducing costs and improving efficiency, these lockers offer a comprehensive solution to the challenges faced by the delivery industry. As the industry continues to evolve, the adoption of such innovative technologies holds the promise of shaping a more sustainable and resilient future for last-mile delivery.
Our company recognized a strong demand for autonomous lockers with a touch screen based on the choices made by end consumers. For this reason, since the fall of 2022, our R&D team led by Mr. Cezar Frîncu – CTO of ARKA, has developed the solar panel battery locker, reaching its fifth iteration this year. The development of this new product was possible due to our extensive expertise in the aviation and automotive industries as well as in-house electronics production for the locker.
What truly sets this locker apart is its off-grid functionality, coupled with a range of peripherals such as: 7-inch LED touch screen display, QR scanner, LED lighting system, 4G mobile router, and energy storage system. The locker is equipped with 2 solar panels, 2 batteries with a lifespan of up to 8 years, control boards produced by ARKA, a Bluetooth module produced by ARKA, a GSM module, and remote reset capability.
There are many reasons for considering autonomous lockers in the last mile industry, they can work without regular power sources. This makes them perfect for places where it's hard to rely on electricity all the time. It helps them keep going without interruptions and makes it easier for them to be used in different areas for deliveries.
Using sunlight to power these lockers is a convenient way to save resources. Instead of always depending on traditional power, they can use solar energy. This helps companies be more economical, making their delivery services better and more sustainable in the long run.
One great thing about solar-powered lockers is that they never stop working, even if there's a power outage. They keep going smoothly, ensuring that deliveries happen without any breaks. This makes the whole delivery system more reliable and efficient, giving customers a consistent and trustworthy experience.
Another important thing is that these lockers can be put in different spots, including faraway or hard-to-reach places. This flexibility makes it easier to solve problems related to reaching specific areas, making the whole delivery system work better.
Using solar panels in deliveries helps the environment, it's a way for companies to be more responsible and eco-friendly. By choosing clean and renewable energy, they're helping to take care of the planet and meet goals for social responsibility.
